I have an 87' Savage that I got from trading a broken Yamaha YZ 250 for. The only thing that was wrong with the Savage is the Starter. At least that is what I thought. With the battery at full charge, you can hear the power pop and the starter turns but the engine will not turn. So like the ametuer I am, I proceeded to take the side of the engine off only to discover that there is nothing that connects the gear from the starter to the main gear on the motor. No wonder this bike was virtually free. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
